Merveilleux Me is a company I started professionally in 2015, but it began long before then.
Growing up in a Haitian household, our remedies were always holistic first. That being said I’ll drink tea for a headache and rub herbs on my wounds before taking a pain killer or something with ingredients I can’t pronounce. My house was always filled with oils, teas, herbs etc. just about any and every thing that grew from the ground. So, naturally making my own products was something I did regularly – I concocted things for my family and friends all the time; it became second nature.
Influenced by a Mother.
My mom is my biggest influence; she would have us put an egg on our face as a mask, olive oil and mayonnaise in our hair as a conditioner, we would even make our own cough syrup. After doing it for so long for free, my true motivation to create this business came from my entrepreneurial family – the Longchamps.
When I was toying with the idea – in their kitchen we would have brainstorming sessions. From the naming of my product line to ways to attract customers – all courtesy of their years of experience as business owners. Even during days where my motivation was bleak, they always had something new to add to my business.
Another motivator who really got me off my tail was Tenille – my cousin who quit her job one day and now runs her own accounting business.
The universe tends to unfold itself.
They say that once you take the first step, the universe will conspire to do the rest and I can attest that Jehovah has blessed me with wonderful friends and families who have become my marketers, business consultants, designers, testers and everything I need to be successful.
My one goal through this business is to remind people that we are wonderfully made; and if I can do that through my products – mission accomplished.
